A Take 5 Oil Change is planned for 1000 Junction Highway, where a 1,956-square-foot building will replace a former gas station on the site.
State filings put the project at an estimated $850,000, with construction set to begin Aug. 3 and finish by Dec. 28. The work is privately funded, on private land for private use.
Take 5 Oil Change was founded in 1984 near New Orleans and built its business on a drive-thru model that lets customers stay in their cars during a roughly 10-minute service. It’s now owned by Charlotte, N.C.-based Driven Brands, the largest automotive services company in North America, which acquired the chain in 2016 and has since grown it to more than 1,100 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
The shop is the latest in a run of vehicle-services development around Kerrville, though the projects are unrelated. A new car wash recently opened on Sidney Baker South, next door to a Valvoline oil change location that opened within the past year.
