Wendell Gary Herring: April 29, 1938-June 9, 2026

Wendell held an unwavering faith in God and loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

Wendell Gary Herring of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at the age of 88. He was born on April 24, 1938, to Oliver and Donna Herring in Houston, Texas.

After graduating from High school, Wendell enlisted in the Air Force and proudly served his country for 22 years. While in the service he graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, he also met and married Jacqueline in 1961 and together they shared 65 beautiful years.

Wendell held an unwavering faith in God and loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his daughters, Donna and husband Michael Brazel, Elaine and husband Fred Sherman; son Michael and wife Andrea Herring and his twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation held at Grimes Funeral Chapels on June 13, 2026, at 1 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2 p.m.
