Kerr County COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to climb

18 people are admitted at Peterson Regional Medical Center with COVID-19

COVID-19 is presenting a third-wave challenge to Kerr County and Texas with increased positive cases and hospitalizations.

On Friday, Kerrville's Peterson Regional Medical Center said it had 18 people hospitalized with the virus. It's the most COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital since January. Across Texas, there have been 19 consecutive days of increasing hospitalizations. The San Antonio region, which includes Kerr County, saw 410 people hospitalized.

A Texas Department of State Health Services report said that 99% of COVID-19 deaths were unvaccinated people. In Kerr County, the number of unvaccinated is at least 60%.
