Help us send Lora Walters to the Williams Syndrome Association Convention in Phoenix

You may have watched us interview Mark and Lora Walters on The Lead Live for the last couple of years. Lora Walters is a remarkable woman with a chromosomal disorder called Williams Syndrome. 

The Williams Syndrome describes it this way: “It is characterized by medical problems, including cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning challenges. These often occur side by side with striking verbal abilities, highly social personalities, and an affinity for music. WS occurs equally in males and females and in all cultures worldwide.” 

Lora didn’t receive a diagnosis until she was almost a teenager, but she persists in leading a normal life, including morning hot chocolate adventures at Pint and Plow. She’s made jewelry and done other odd jobs, but the battle with the syndrome can be taxing. 

Mark and Lora will attend the 2024 Williams Syndrome Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Phoenix, Ariz. in July. “It’s a lot of fun,” Lora said of the convention, connecting hundreds of Williams Syndrome folks with the latest information about treating the disorder.
