Adelaide (Lila) Castillo: Feb. 8, 1945-Sept. 1, 2026

Adelaide (Lila) Castillo, born on February 8, 1945, in Kerrville, Texas, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lila passed away on September 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Villarreal, and her brother, Chris Villarreal. Lila is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Joe Castillo, and their children: Robert Castillo and Suzanne(wife); Yolanda Larson and Gregg (husband); Joe Castillo and Angie (wife); Carol Wagner and Father David (husband); and Joseph Castillo and Emily (wife). She leaves behind three brothers Paul, Junior and Roger; 11 cherished grandchildren and six precious great-grandchildren, countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lila dedicated her life to her family, spending many years as a nurturing stay-at-home mom after working at James Avery. Her passions included reading, traveling, dancing, and music. Despite her dream of becoming an architect, she found joy in collecting design books and engaging in lively conversations.

Known for her strong yet kind spirit, Lila had a unique gift for making others feel welcome and cared for. Her sense of humor and generosity touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on those she loved. Her legacy of love and laughter will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

The rosary will be at 9:30 am and the funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on September 18, 2026 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 909 Main Street, Kerrville, TX. The burial will take place at 2:45 pm at Fort Sam Houston, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78209.
