FOREST GROVE, Ore. — Bryce Still threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns and Blessing Ngene ran for 106 yards and a score as Howard Payne opened its season with a 49-0 rout of Pacific (Ore.) on Friday night.

Deuce Martin caught four passes for 131 yards, including a 56-yard touchdown, and Osvaldo Gomez made both his field-goal attempts and all five extra points for Howard Payne (1-0), which outgained Pacific 522-151 and forced an interception.

Chance Hehman added a 17-yard touchdown catch and a two-point conversion run, Jalen Thomas caught a 28-yard scoring pass, and Kaleb Tate and Michael Phillips each scored on short touchdown runs.

Pacific (0-1) was held to 2 of 14 on third down and 0 of 2 in the red zone.
