Schreiner routed 7-1 at Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, Texas — Schreiner suffered its most lopsided result of the season Thursday, falling 7-1 at Hardin-Simmons in an American Southwest Conference match at the HSU Soccer Complex in Abilene.

Hardin-Simmons scored twice in a span of 37 seconds early in the first half — Tatum Barnett in the 21st minute, assisted by Maeve Connerty, and Connerty herself less than a minute later, assisted by Lexi Templin — to take a 2-0 lead it never relinquished. Jadyn Jones made it 3-0 in the 54th minute, assisted by Barnett, before Connerty added her second goal of the match in the 66th minute. Hardin-Simmons closed it out with three goals in an 11-minute second-half stretch: McKenzie Templin in the 79th minute, Taylor Koch in the 81st minute and Zyri Ellison in the 88th minute. Ainsley Boff scored an unassisted consolation goal for Schreiner in the 90th minute.
