Six Flags Fiesta Texas unveils Werewolf Gorge, set to open in 2027

Six Flags Fiesta Texas announced Saturday a new roller coaster, Werewolf Gorge, that the park says will be the longest ride in its history when it opens in 2027.
The park revealed the family launch coaster during an evening presentation May 30, timed to a full moon to match the ride’s supernatural theme. A drone display formed the attraction’s logo overhead as guests left the event.
Built by Vekoma, Werewolf Gorge will run 4,120 feet and last about 2 minutes, 36 seconds, with four launches, a 40-foot drop, an 85-foot elevation change and speeds reaching 45 mph, according to the park. Six Flags says the ride will include 32 “floater” airtime moments and a 39-inch height requirement, pitching it as an attraction multiple generations can ride together. The company bills it as the world’s longest family launch coaster.
“Werewolf Gorge brings together storytelling, innovation and a bold combination of ride elements that truly sets it apart,” park manager Robert Bustle said in a statement.
The ride’s story centers on a fictional Texas quarry and a centuries-old werewolf curse. Guests board what begins as a mining-train tour before a high-speed escape through the quarry, passing towering werewolf figures and scenic elements. The attraction is themed around Jasper Bunyan, an invented entrepreneur who turned the quarry into a roadside attraction, with themed queue areas including a Museum of Cryptids and a Werewolf Museum.
Six Flags has teased the project since 2025 with what it called full moon activations staged around the park.
Werewolf Gorge will open as part of the park’s 35th anniversary season in 2027. Six Flags is also promoting new attractions at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels and Six Flags Over Texas, and has extended a Memorial Day pass sale through June 7.
