Ingram Tom Moore boosters plan Boots and Barbecue as Warriors chase a playoff run

The Ingram Tom Moore Booster Club is hoping for one more reason to celebrate on Nov. 14.
The club’s Boots and Barbecue fundraiser runs from 5 to 10 p.m. that Saturday at Crider’s, and booster members expect it to land after the Warriors’ first playoff game.
“I think we’re gonna go deep this year,” booster member Jessica Lenard said on Wednesday’s episode of The Lead Live.
What to expect
The event is come and go, Lenard said, with:
- Live music from Callie Ann Stetler and Sean Kendrick, plus a DJ
- Barbecue plates for $20; kids 12 and under eat free with hot dogs
- Raffles and a silent auction
- Photos with Ingram Tom Moore student athletes
The club is asking people to preorder plates on its website so it knows how much to cook. A few VIP tables remain at $500 for a table of eight, which includes eight barbecue plates and a reserved spot for the evening.
A season worth celebrating
Ingram is 5-1, with its only loss to Mason. The Warriors also beat Bandera and, last weekend, Llano, a team that has given Ingram trouble for years. Guests on the show said it may have been Ingram’s first win over Llano since 2002.
Booster member Misty Kothe, who also sits on the school’s Hall of Fame committee, credits part of the team’s chemistry to a strong senior class. Several of those players spent a day this summer cleaning out her family’s flood-damaged property after the July 16 flood, hauling out heavy, mud-caked debris.
“They didn’t ask questions,” Kothe said. “They were getting nothing out of it.”
When the players complained that the school’s weight room had flooded, she told them, “Welcome to your new weight room.”
More ways to help
Lenard also serves on the Ingram Elementary PTO, which is raising money this year with the Lucky Duck Express. Families buy $10 tickets, and five winners drawn each month get to use a separate, faster lane in the school’s pickup line. Lenard said the district has grown to about full capacity, and the pickup line can take close to an hour.
Tickets, preorders and VIP tables for Boots and Barbecue are available on the booster club’s website.
