Our Lady of the Hills hits home run with Texas Rangers grant

For Our Lady of the Hills, the lighting project represents more than just infrastructure improvement—it’s an investment in the school’s athletic future and its ability to compete at higher levels while providing students with enhanced learning opportunities in America’s pastime.

Our Lady of the Hills College Prep has been selected as one of just 13 organizations across Texas and Oklahoma to receive funding from the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Globe Life’s 2025 Baseball and Softball Grant Program. The team donated $100,000 to the 13 programs.

The Kerrville school will use its portion of the grant funding to construct new lighting structures for its baseball and softball fields, a significant upgrade that will enhance the program’s capabilities and extend playing hours for student-athletes.

The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation announced the grant recipients today, marking the 14th consecutive year of the Globe Life Baseball and Softball Grant Program. Our Lady of the Hills was chosen from numerous applicants across the Rangers’ five-state television territory for its commitment to youth baseball and softball development.

The grant program, which has donated over $1.2 million to more than 150 organizations since 2012, focuses on growing youth participation in baseball and softball through funding for construction projects, field renovations, equipment purchases, and facility upgrades.

“The Globe Life Baseball and Softball Grant Program plays a substantial role in our organization’s commitment to ensuring that every child is afforded the opportunity to experience joy and community through sports,” said Karin Morris, Senior VP of Community Impact and Executive Director of the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

For Our Lady of the Hills, the lighting project represents more than just infrastructure improvement—it’s an investment in the school’s athletic future and its ability to compete at higher levels while providing students with enhanced learning opportunities in America’s pastime.

Representatives from Our Lady of the Hills are scheduled to be recognized at Globe Life Field during pre-game ceremonies prior to tomorrow night’s Rangers-Astros game at 6:15 p.m., where all 13 grant recipients will be honored for their contributions to youth baseball and softball development.

The other Texas recipients include organizations from Haltom City, Fort Worth, Irving, Keller, Childress, and Stamford, while Oklahoma programs in Atoka, Jay, Durant, Lawton, and Sweetwater also received funding for various field improvements, equipment purchases, and facility upgrades.

This recognition places Our Lady of the Hills among an elite group of organizations committed to fostering the next generation of baseball and softball players in the region, while bringing positive attention to Kerrville’s dedication to youth athletics and community development.
