Ingram Warrior Homes receives three-year grant from Adam R. Scripps Foundation

Ingram Warrior Homes, the nonprofit supporting the building trades program at Ingram Tom Moore High School, has received a three-year contribution from the Adam R. Scripps Foundation.
The grant will fund supplies and help pay for an additional instructor to assist with on-campus home builds. Ingram Warrior Homes partners with students and educators to provide hands-on construction experience through the building of custom small homes, giving students practical skills in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, project management and teamwork.
“Their generosity helps us continue building more than homes — we are building futures, confidence, and opportunities for our students,” said Steve Schulte, Ingram Warrior Homes board president.
Alex Bakkum, chief philanthropy officer of the Adam R. Scripps Foundation, said the organization was drawn to the program’s real-world impact. “By putting real tools in the hands of young people and giving them the skills to build something meaningful, they’re not just constructing homes, they’re constructing futures,” Bakkum said.
The foundation’s support is also expected to expand community volunteer involvement and deepen partnerships with local building professionals through monetary and in-kind donations.
