Karen Sue Duffy: March 21, 1948-Sept. 11, 2026

Karen Sue Duffy, age 78, passed away on September 11, 2026, in Weatherford, Texas.

Karen was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Cecil Reaves and Lessie Reaves. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Karen had a warm, bubbly personality and a joyful spirit that made people feel welcome wherever she went.

Karen shared 34 years of marriage with her husband, Virgil Duffy. Together they built a life filled with family, laughter, and countless memories. Virgil, a retired Wichita Falls firefighter, preceded her in death, along with her parents, Cecil and Lessie Reaves, and her brother, Wesley Reaves.

Karen had a lifelong love for horses and barrel racing, and she was never one to turn down a chance to dance, laugh, or enjoy a good time with the people she loved.

Karen had a way of bringing life into a room. Her laughter, her warmth, and her ability to enjoy the moment made time spent with her special. She loved deeply, lived fully, and created memories that her family will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Karen is survived by her daughters, Shelly Wright and husband Will Wright, April Hays and husband Tanner Hays, Amanda Wagner and husband Travis Wagner, and Delaine Corbin and husband BJ Corbin. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Hunter; her nephew, Herold Peysen and wife Lesa Peysen; her grandchildren, Dual, Mandie, Kassidy, Tanna, Alyx, Paisley, Wahkai, Phoenix, Elise, Tyler, Zoey, Zakery, and Colter; and her great-grandchildren, Josie, Birdie, Amelia, Jada, and Mila. Each of them held a special place in her heart.

There will never be another Karen, and there is no way to put into words how much she will be missed. She gave her family a lifetime of memories, and those memories will always keep a part of her close at heart.
