Michelle Avalos: Feb. 17, 1980-Sept. 5, 2026

Michelle Avalos, 46, of Kerrville passed away on September 5, 2026. She was born on February 17, 1980, to Richard Clements and Mary-Louise Clements (Youmans).

Michelle grew up in South Georgia with a love of music, festivals, friends, sun, and fun. Michelle particularly enjoyed the Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic. Michelle’s presence was uplifting – her light permeated one’s soul and offered understanding and connection; she knew how to relate to people so they never felt alone. Just like her mother, she never knew a stranger; her infectious spirit offered instant friendship and love. Her impact on the community will last lifetimes over and over. Her capacity for love, kindness, and compassion truly affected those around her in the community; the world is truly darker now without her.

At the time of her passing, Michelle was engaged to Logan McKerracher. Together, they shared many years of love and companionship. She was a pure source of mutual love, understanding, respect, and friendship that will be cherished forever.

Michelle was preceded in death by her mother, Mary-Louise Clements. Her family takes comfort in knowing that the two are reunited. She is survived by her father, Richard Doug Clements; her sister, Mary Beth Clements; her daughter, Gracie Avalos; her aunt, Sheila O’Neal; her maternal uncles, Robert Youmans, Richard Youmans, John Youmans, and Mike Youmans; paternal uncles, David and Chris Clements; and her fiancé, Logan McKerracher. She is truly missed by those that knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked instead for donations to recovery networks or sober living facilities in your community. This was a cause near and dear to Michelle’s heart; most of her life was spent dedicated to helping those in recovery. Her selfless work in the community acts as an inspiration, and the recovery community is grateful for the hours she put in caring for others. We can all take a page from Michelle’s book by choosing to extend compassion and understanding to those who need it. 

Michelle’s celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 12, at the Tifton Elks Lodge in Tifton, Georgia from 9 am to 11 am.
