Lynne Susan Gregory: Aug. 8, 1955-Sept. 12, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and rejoicing that we announce the passing of Lynne Susan Gregory, who went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 12, 2026, at the age of 71, in Kerrville, TX.

Susan was born on August 8, 1955, at Fort Ord in Monterey, CA, to Clarence Theo Blue and Ruby Lynn Blue. Her life began in California before she moved to Midland and then to Houston in 1967, where she spent most of her childhood. In Houston, her family were long-time members of First Baptist Church Spring Branch, and she graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1973, where she was a member of the Tigerettes Drill Team. Susan attended Southwest Texas State University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and a Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity little sister. After graduating in 1978 with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, she began working as a buyer and store manager for the Foley’s and Macy’s department store chains. After leaving the retail fashion industry, she worked alongside her husband, Henry C. “Hank” Gregory, for over 25 years, building a premier custom home building business in Galveston, TX. Hank and Susan were married on March 1, 1986, when she gained not only a husband, but a son Heath, who she always loved like her own. In Galveston, Susan served on several boards, including the Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County, Executive Career Women, the Junior League of Galveston County, and Dough Girls Investment Club to name a few. Around 2012, Susan and Hank “retired” to Kerrville, TX to be close to their grandchildren, but retirement didn’t last. They quickly began to serve the Kerrville community the only way they knew how, building premier custom homes.

Susan will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, selfless attitude, confidence, and her ability to coordinate events. More than that, Susan will be remembered as a doer of the Word and not merely a hearer. In Kerrville, her walk with the Lord blossomed. As a member of Kerrville Bible Church she served as Women’s Ministry Director for numerous years and faithfully sang in the choir. She was often the first and only call to plan a wedding, care for the elderly, or organize a women’s retreat. She loved the church and loved her church family. Susan used the gifts her creator gave her to serve those around her faithfully. Susan’s greatest joy was her granddaughters, and she was an incredible Mimi. She attended plays, tennis matches, volleyball games, hemmed dresses, babysat, played games that ended with her getting whipped cream in the face, threw snowballs, played dress up; she did everything a Mimi is supposed to do and more, and she always did it with a smile on her face and joy in her heart, no matter what the cost. If Susan wasn’t at church or with her granddaughters, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs or time in Angel Fire, NM with Hank. Susan was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and Mimi. She leaves an incredible legacy of faith and service to the Lord and love for everyone around her.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Henry C. “Hank” Gregory, her son Heath Gregory and his wife Laurie and their three daughters Kendall, Kenedy, and Karis of Kerrville, TX, her mother, Ruby Lynn Blue of Kerrville, TX, her brother Greg Blue and his wife Nancy of Tyler TX, and her brother Tom Blue and his wife Taina and their daughter Avery and son Ryan of Kerrville, TX. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Theo Blue.

A memorial service will be held on September 26, 2026 at 10:00am at Kerrville Bible Church, 898 Harper Rd, Kerrville, TX 78028. A brief reception will be held immediately after the service.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Peterson Hospice, especially Jill and Sarah, Rock Creek House, Carly Tumlinson, Meghan Welton, Bertie Pimm, and Cynthia Cruz for their care and support the past 9 months.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Kerrville Bible Church.
