Doyle Community Center fills October calendar, seeks donations and volunteers

The Doyle Community Center has a senior lunch, a game night and Bible study sessions on its October calendar. It is also asking for donations and volunteers as it continues to serve families affected by the July floods.

All events are at the center, 110 W. Barnett St.:

• Senior Lunch and Bingo: noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, with lunch, bingo, prizes and music by Ray Gutierrez. Everyone is welcome, whether they’re bingo regulars or have never played.
• Game Night: 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Bring card games, board games or dominoes, plus snacks and drinks for yourself or to share.
• Community Bible Study: 4 to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 15 and Oct. 29. All are welcome, and attendees should bring their own Bible.

The center says it has served the community for more than a century, providing food assistance, youth programs, senior activities and community events. It is asking for donations to keep those services going after the floods. Volunteers are also needed for the food pantry, events and programs.
