Ahead of 2022, but the gap is narrowing

Turnout has run ahead of 2022 every day this week, though by smaller margins as the week has gone on:

  • Monday: 2,538 voters, up 43% from the first day in 2022
  • Tuesday: 2,328, up 39%
  • Wednesday: 2,041, up 34%
  • Thursday: 1,683, up 16%

Through four days, turnout is 34% ahead of the 2022 pace.

Among the highest in Texas

Among Texas’ 100 largest counties, only Llano County had higher in-person turnout through Thursday. Llano was at 25.68%. Statewide, in-person turnout was 13.82%.

Hill Country counties hold five of the top seven spots, including Burnet (20.95%), Gillespie (19.86%) and Kendall (19.63%).

Several counties across the state had not fully reported their numbers, and mail ballots are not included in these rankings.

Measuring up to past elections

The 8,591 ballots cast in four days already equal about 64% of all 13,426 ballots cast in Kerr County’s March primary, early voting and Election Day combined.

They’re also about 60% of the 14,249 early in-person votes cast in Kerr County during all of early voting in 2022, according to official county results. In that election, 22,604 Kerr County voters cast ballots, for turnout of 57.86%.

Two years ago, in the 2024 presidential election, 28,347 Kerr County voters cast ballots, for turnout of 70.76%. More than 22,700 of them voted early in person, and just 4,135 voted on Election Day.

Voting continues

Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
