Olga Vega: Sept. 18, 1935-Sept. 27, 2026

Her favorite pastime was watching Dancing with the Stars and just being home with loved ones. She loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She was our rock and will be missed to no end.

Olga A. Vega, 91, of Kerrville, TX, went to rest in eternal peace on Sunday, September 27, 2026. She was born in Kerrville, TX to Louis Arreola and Anita Cortez Ramirez on September 18, 1935.

Olga attended Tivy High School and later worked at The Inn of The Hill’s as a housekeeper for many years; she took great pride in her work and later retired. Her favorite pastime was watching Dancing with the Stars and just being home with loved ones. She loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She was our rock and will be missed to no end.

Olga was preceded in death by her father, Louis Arreola; mother, Anita Cortez Ramirez; daughter, Carol Centeno; older sister, Herlinda Villanueva; brothers-in-law, Jose Villanueva and Martin Reyes Jr.; nephew, Louis Villanueva; nieces, Yolanda Davila and Diana Reyes.

Survivors include sons, Robert Vega and wife Rebeca, Richard Vega and Ralph Vega III; daughters, Corinne Aguirre and husband Jerry and Cynthia Howard; sister, Leonor A. Reyes; grandchildren, Olivia Centeno, Billy Hurst, Wyatt Aguirre, Vanessa Aguirre, Robert “Robbie” Vega, Tiffany Vega, Eric Vega, Richard “Richie” Vega, Dennis Dasch, Brian Dasch, Christopher Vega, Michael Vega and Ralph Vega IV; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will be held from 10am-6pm, followed by the Rosary at 6pm, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, given by Deacon Bill.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, October 9, 2026, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, with Father Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wyatt Aguirre, Billy Hurst, Robert “Robbie” Vega, Richard “Richie” Vega, Dennis Dasch and Ralph Vega IV. Honorary Pallbearers include Silas Andrews, Damien Dasch, “Baby” Dennis Dasch, Christoper Vega, Eric Vega, Michael Vega and Brian Dasch.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Grimes Funeral Chapels, Notre Dame Catholic Church, the Kerrville EMS/ Fire Department, KPD, and Dr. Jon Eric Chancellor for all his love and care he gave this wonderful lady throughout her years; he was by far her favorite.

Growing up in Southern California, Louis Amestoy remained connected to Texas as the birthplace of his father and grandfather. Texas was always a presence in the family’s life. Amestoy’s great-grandparents settled in San Antonio, Texas, drawn by the city’s connections to Mexico and the region’s German communities. In 2019, Louis Amestoy saw an opportunity to make a home in Texas. After 30 years of working for corporate media chains, Louis Amestoy saw a chance to establish an independent voice in the Texas Hill Country. He launched The Lead to be that vehicle. With investment from Meta, Amestoy began independently publishing on Aug. 9, 2021. The Amestoys have called Kerrville home since 2019.
