The Lead is set for a medley of Christmas-themed events!
Join us as we celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving with some fun-loving events.
Believe it or not, we are now less than 60 days away from Christmas, and that means The Lead’s Christmas trio of events will be here before you know it.
We start our Christmas and holiday-themed cycle beginning on Nov. 18 with our live coverage of Kerrville’s Lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Kerrville. Join The Lead Live crew as we broadcast the parade with all the wit and colorful commentary from our hosts. However, we think it’s essential that you attend in person, but you can catch the parade on-demand via Facebook or YouTube.
Presenting our 2023 parade coverage is Greg A. Richards Attorneys, with support from Happy State Bank; if you’re interested in being one of the sponsors, email louis.amestoy@kerrcountylead.
On Thanksgiving Day, The Lead Live hosts its third annual show from the Salvation Army’s Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Kerrville. Joining us will be Salvation Army Capt. Jeremiah Romack and Maj. Missy Romack. Be on the lookout for more guests from our Thanksgiving Breakfast at The Kroc.
And then, on Dec. 1, we begin the big run of Christmas-related programming with our third annual KPUB Christmas Lights Tour and the second annual Gibson’s Discount Center’s 12 Days of Giftmas.
Last year, we photographed more than 400 homes in Kerr County on our manic Christmas Lights tour. Thanks to the generous backing of KPUB, we can get around to plenty of places this year, with our goal of photographing about 500 homes. On Dec. 21, 2023, we’ll present our awards in at least 15 categories, including the “reason for the season” and other displays of whimsy. If you want to be an awards sponsor, it’s just $125 per category. You can select the categories here: https://checkout.square.site/merchant/MLEWCF2K4ASZZ/checkout/4W6FEA442GUE72HDZLFKHIUA
More importantly, if you’d like us to photograph your home, please fill out our form to add your house to our visiting list: https://forms.gle/xVG2pc2zahGzHJyW9
And our second 12 Days of Giftmas event runs from Dec. 1-18 here at Pint and Plow. This is where we provide local businesses and nonprofits a venue to pitch their gift Christmas gift ideas. Some of our participants include Gibson’s Discount Center, Wild Birds Unlimited, Ken Stoepel Ford and the Kerrville Convention and Visitors Bureau. We expect even more participants this year, and if you’re interested, contact sponsorships@kerrcountylead.com to receive our rate card for low-cost opportunities.
