Ernie Edwin Russell: Aug. 5, 1930-Sept. 22, 2026

Ernie Edwin Russell, of Kerrville, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was born in Sacramento, California to Ernest and Clara Russell on August 5, 1930. He married Rita Brunelli on May 1, 1976, in Ben Lomond, California.   

He went to school in Sacramento, California. He was in the carpenters’ union for 36 years and retired as superintendent. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Navy and was awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon, the United Nations Service Ribbon, the Korean Service Ribbon (two stars) and the Good Conduct Medal.      

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Clara Russell; his brother, Robert; and his sister, Gertrude.                                                       

Survivors include Rita Russell, David and Kelly Russell, Linda Benedict, Tina and John Jansen, Tammy and Danny Adams, Dorrie Mackey, Ernie and Christina Russell, Daniel and Stacy Russell, Julie and Jim Houts, Mark and Bobby Russell, Paul Russell, Tom Russell, Terri and Robin Kerr, Mickey and Teresa Brunelli, Paul Brunelli, 58 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
