Showers and storms are now moving into the I-35 corridor and are expected to continue into the evening, with another 1 to 4 inches possible there and isolated amounts up to 6 inches.
The Flash Flood Warning for Kerr County remains in effect until 2 p.m. Even as the rain eases, creeks, low-water crossings and the Guadalupe River can keep rising for hours after the storms pass. Several Kerrville roads were barricaded for high water as of 10 a.m.
Showers and storms could return each day through the weekend, but forecasters said they shouldn’t be as intense as today’s. Monday through Wednesday next week look dry.
As of 10 a.m. Thursday, these roads were barricaded because of high water or water over the roadway:
- Arcadia Loop at Bear Creek Road
- Goat Creek Road at Junction Highway
- Town Creek at Schreiner Street
- Junction Highway at Coronado Drive
- Lytle Street at Third Street
- Lytle Street at First Street
- Travis Street at First Street
