Karol Ann Potter: Jan. 4, 1951-Oct. 6, 2026
In addition to running their business, Karol’s #1 hobby was shooting skeet, and she became a world-ranked skeet shooter in her 50s.
Karol Ann Potter (Kalinowsky), 75, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully on October 6, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 4, 1951, in Houston, Texas to John and June Kalinowsky, Karol attended Spring Branch High School where she was an accomplished athlete on the Varsity Tennis Team.
On December 20, 1968, she married Harold Potter and they began their life together which extended for the next 40 years. Karol continued playing tennis after getting married and eventually became a Tennis Instructor at Memorial Park Tennis Center for several years.
In 1978, they moved their family to Austin, Texas where they started their own business. Karol worked right alongside Harold for the next 11 years. Eventually, they sold their business and moved to their Hill Country property in Leakey, Texas for a brief time. Kerrville, Texas was their next and final move where they started Main Street Cleaners in 1991.
In addition to running their business, Karol’s #1 hobby was shooting skeet, and she became a world-ranked skeet shooter in her 50s. During this time, she became a skeet instructor for all ages, and she also founded a Ladies Shooting Club where she met many life-long friends.
Throughout the years, Karol was quite the outdoorswoman. She loved to hunt on their deer leases and traveled to Argentina twice to dove hunt. There were also many fishing trips taken to Galveston and other parts of the coast with family and friends. She had quite the competitive spirit when it came to hunting and fishing, but she made sure that everyone had a good time!
Other than her love for the outdoors, Karol’s biggest love was for her 2 children and her 6 grandchildren. Some of her happiest times were sitting out on her front porch swing with family just spending the afternoon laughing and enjoying their company. In the winter months, she spent time on her back porch and made sure she had a fire roaring in her outdoor fireplace. Everyone would huddle around the fire and share stories well into the night.
Karol was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Potter; parents, John and June Kalinowsky; siblings, Kelly Kalinowsky, Karen Speir, and Kathy Weid; and her granddaughter, Sarah Reagor.
She is survived by her daughter, Anissa Reagor, and her husband, Charlie; son, Ross Potter, and his wife, Kari; grandchildren, Ross Potter Jr., Emily Reagor, Chase Reagor, Mary Kathryn Pace, and her husband, Brendan, and Grant Potter; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, October 23, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Pastor Mark Spaniel.
