Visiting Hardin-Simmons University scored four runs in the sixth inning on Tuesday afternoon to post a 6-4 victory in a non-conference game against Schreiner University.

The loss was the third consecutive for the host Mountaineers, who lost two-of-three last week against St. Thomas in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series. The Hardin-Simmons win evened the season series between the two schools at 1-1.

Schreiner first baseman Daniel Garza had two hits and two RBI for the Mountaineers, who are now 12-8 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Denton on Saturday for a three-game series against Austin College.
