Ross scores 33 points to lead Schreiner to 78-75 victory at Dallas

Ross leads the Mountaineers to a road win at Dallas.

IRVING, Texas — Kamden Ross scored a season-high 33 points and Schreiner University rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Dallas 78-75 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference basketball action Saturday at Maher Athletic Center.

Ross shot 15-of-23 from the field as the Mountaineers (4-2 SCAC) outscored Dallas 45-35 in the second half after trailing 40-33 at intermission. Dylan Mackey added 18 points and four steals for Schreiner.

The Crusaders led by as many as 14 points at 57-43 with 16:08 remaining before Schreiner mounted its comeback. Johnny Olmsted and Terrence Bryant each scored 17 points to lead Dallas, with Olmsted hitting 4-of-7 from three-point range.

Trailing 72-72 with 2:00 left, Schreiner took the lead for good on CJ Ward’s tip-in. Bryant’s three-pointer with 57 seconds remaining brought Dallas within one at 76-75, but Ross sealed the win with a basket in the final minute to give Schreiner its first SCAC road win of the season.
