Anna Rountree: May 11, 1945-Oct. 10, 2026

Ann loyally served her God, Jehovah, for her entire life, holding firm to her hope for the future while sharing the Bible based hope with everyone she could.

Anna (Ann) Louise Barrett Rountree of Kerrville, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026, at the age of 81.

Ann was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on May 11, 1945, to Gordon and Isabella Barrett. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1963 and then went on to attend college at Southwest Texas University. She later used her education to become a teacher of Spanish and English.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William (Bill) Rountree and daughter, Margaret Rountree Brazell.

She is survived by children, Elizabeth Rountree Schlueter and husband Chandler Schlueter, Gordon Rountree and wife Julie Gore Rountree; stepson, Lee Rountree and wife Karen Rountree; grandchildren, Nicholas Rountree, Dylan Brazell Garcia and husband Jeremiah Garcia, Natalie Rountree Filippone and husband Jovian Filippone, Grayson Brazell; step grandchildren, Kelly Scott and husband Terry Scott, Samuel Rountree, Kendra Rountree; great-grandchild, August Filippone; and step great-grandchild, Jolan Stevens.

Ann loved studying the Bible and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 2, 1970. Ann loyally served her God, Jehovah, for her entire life, holding firm to her hope for the future while sharing the Bible based hope with everyone she could.

She tried hard to exhibit the qualities of a fine Christian woman as is mentioned in the Bible at 1 Peter 3:4.

Ann will always be remembered as a loving and selfless person. No matter the circumstances, she did everything she could to show her love and support to whoever needed it. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She always found a way to show her creativity and share it with others, whether it be composing her own songs on the piano or writing poems for those she loved. She had an adventurous spirit and often outpaced even her grandchildren on hiking trips. She always had great appreciation for nature and Jehovah’s creation.

She was truly a very special person and will be greatly missed. She will be safe in Jehovah God’s memory until the day she will be brought back to life in the resurrection — God’s promise at John 5:28,29.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 2160 Goat Creek Road, Kerrville, Texas.Print Obituary
